Dutch Criminal Record, Pioneers, Lobster Pot, Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth, 30/08/2019

What a gig!

Rare to enjoy all three bands as much as each other, but this was an awesome line-up and each band rocked it!

First Lobster Pot, finalists in the unsigned showcase last year. Loved them then and loved tonight’s polished performance. Been listening to their recordings prior to the gig, the lovely ‘Nevermind‘ that sounds like a tune the Sundays may have written. Live, their changeovers between songs are smooth and the performance rehearsed to perfection.

Would love to see Lobster Pot supporting some touring bands this Autumn. In the meantime, if you’re in or around Worthing on Thursday, 05/09, get down to Bar 42 where you can see both them and DCRlads again.

Pioneers just brought out new single “I don’t think I’ve changed” which is a cracker – see review and Interview with lead singer Sam Watts on the Dindiefest website.

Long an admirer, and this is the third time I’ve seen them, I love them a bit more every time I do. Sam is so good at engaging his audience and the crowd always responds. See the medley of crowd scenes put together below.

They always add something a little unexpected. Tonight its the two cover tunes. Checkout the Sam Watts rendition of ‘Can’t help falling in love’ 🥰- amazing.

You’re always guaranteed a great time with Pioneers and their fun crowds always add to the show. Loved every minute – 🙌 bois – cant wait for the next one,

Pioneers are off touring in October and i’m sure they’ll go down well wherever they go but let’s hope we also get a couple of chances to see them before the end of the year.

Since 2016, I’ve been a fan of Dutch Criminal Record and I’ve seen them several times. One of my favourite times was Victorious 2018 when they stormed the Friday Beats and Swings tent. At the big events they always pull out all the stops and they really made their ‘End of Summer’ party go with a bang tonight.

🙌🙌🙌 guys – great job – loved the show.

Up and coming events for Dutch Criminal Record including a cracker at Thousand Island with Covasettes.
